“I wouldn’t have collaborated with Humblesmith if I didn’t fall out with my Baby mama’s father” – Davido
Omo Baba Olowo as he is popularly referred to is back to not just his music, but revealing things in an interview.
In a recent interview, the award-winning IF crooner revealed that his collaboration with Nigerian artiste, HumbleSmith was to get back at his Babymama’s father since they had been bad blood going on between both families at that time.
This response was given when asked what inspired his collaborations. To Davido, there’s nothing spectacular about who he collaborates with, it sometimes just feels right and other times it is more or less being at the right place at the right time or the events going on at that time.
With Humblesmith’s Osinachi, Davido felt right to use it to respond to his Baby Mama’s father, Dele Momodu, who was in one way or the other involved in the custody battle and Davido’s relationship with his daughter, Sophia.
The internet is heating up with such a response because they feel Davido is trying to wake a sleeping dog, but what are your thoughts?

Psquare Will Be Back If The Respect Is Back – Peter Okoye Reveals On The Cover Of Vibe Magazine
”Cool it down” Crooner Peter Okoye looked dope as he graced the cover of Vibe Magazine latest, where he talked about the challenges his facing as a solo artist, and possibilities of Psqaure returning, According to him they will return when the respect he demanded is back.
Read excerpts of he interview :
18 years down the line-what would you say is your fondest memory of P-Square?
Peter: Ever since we started till date, it has been fun till like probably late 2013.
Is there anything you’re likely to miss?
Like I said, 30 children cannot continue to play for 30 years. We are at a point where we no longer have respect for each other. It is not ego or pride; it’s respect… Respect as an individual, and as family. This is the best solution we could come to.
You guys have been together for quite a long time. Not many groups have done that. What helped the group last as long as it did?
Respect. It was respect all through. What made us grow was respect? Not because we’re brothers. Not even because we’re twins. It was because we had respect for each other.
We’ve seen videos of people crying on social media because they heard about the breakup. How do you think fans will handle this transition?
Change is constant. I always hear people say blood is thicker than water. I’m married. I did not select a wife for anybody. The question is, who is water? Are my brothers blood and my wife and kids the water? It’s like asking me who is priority. When was the last time your parents decided to look after their siblings more than you?
To the fans, we’re sorry. You don’t want to see P-Square on stage when they just fought back stage; pleasing you guys when we are not happy. I’ve tried many times to make it work but it did not work… I just had to give up for the sake of the respect of our individual families.
Is there a slight possibility that some day, we will have back the P-Square we used to know?
Of course. When the respect is back. When you stay apart for a while, the respect will come. We’ve lost it.
People will never understand but we’ve lost that respect. Like I said in the open letter, we will work in future but when we come back, it will be from respect. There was no respect that’s why there has been a back and forth. Aren’t you guys tired of it? If I tell you that P-Square is back now, people will say “You guys are tricking us”. Don’t play with people’s minds.
I don’t have any problem. All I said is that, have it at the back of your minds – P-Square is for the fans. Peter, Paul. Jude and family, is family.
People say why do I put my business on social media? If I say I am not dealing with this manager (Jude Okoye), it is for the public to know because it is the public that will still call and book a show with him.
I give him my respect as an older brother. I don’t have a problem with that but when you disrespect me based on the job, then there’s a problem. One thing I will never do when I come back to this life again is mix family with business.

“Augment” Maybe Phyno Should Just Give Up Rapping?
Review by Jim Donnett (@jimancipation)
Phyno makes it look like being a rapper can get pretty boring and tiring sometimes. It almost feels as if it’s when he can’t whip up the magic in his lyrical bars that he opts for singing, which really isn’t a bad thing for him to do. But however I have a personal reserve against him doing that for like the last couple of music releases since his Playmaker album dropped. On If To Say, he sang. Zamo Zamo with Wande Coal, he sang. The one with DJ Enimoney nko? Still sang. Then now this Olamide one again, singing!
For a guy with a famed personality in rap to now become largely synonymous for his musical melodies in like roughly the last two years, then you know there’s something amidst somewhere. However, my personal bias for Phyno and his style of sonorous singing won’t let me see past giving ear to good reason because I just love this Augment song.
My impeccable home training throws out the window once I hear it anywhere – be it in the car, on the streets, in a bus or even at my barber’s shop. I like that it’s a song entreating the message of hope, occasionally breaking into those classic-style praise worship medleys reminiscent of Igbo Pentecostal churches like the type I attend. Owing to the fact that it is ember month season, and nothing dominates this period better than songs that evoke gyration (or the feeling of it), I guess Phyno playing safe with this song is totally allowed. But he needs to watch it though before we relegate him to the trenches of them singer wannabes.
Review by aL Yhusuff (@therealmarcusbrown)
Listening to Augment, one has to give it to Phyno for easily flowing with the tide of the high-life. The vocals isn’t that strong but it’s quite melodious and one can’t resist bumping along to the instrumentation.
Some rap heads could easily say Phyno has left the hip-pop culture aside and gone commercial by singing on this one, but we also have to realize that he has to satisfy his teeming fans, mostly Nigerians who don’t really dig the hip-hop culture anymore.
The high-life feel? Words can’t express that aspect as it feels almost perfect.
Olamide doesn’t fall below par too as he flows sings effortlessly on the tide.
The production quality from Masterkraft is certainly on point.
As for the lyrics, it’s just wishy-washy with no serious attempts at song writing but without doubts, this record is one that would certainly rock the airwaves in this ember period.
